A fun, weekly round of Career ideas!
Sometimes we have a plan…
It is a great plan!
We know what to do and how to finish it…
It could be your weekly plan.
You agreed to implement a feature.
Maybe you plan to test a new version of an API.
You will fix the bug a customer found in the new version.
You will launch a new product…
You are confident.
Everyone is expecting your results.
You are energized and focused!
But then…
For some reason…
(Sometimes something you did…)
(Other times it is out of your control…)
And…
Your well intended plan fails…
Everything comes crashing down,
And you can’t get it to work…
You don’t understand.
You don’t finish.
It takes longer.
New problems arise…
People around you get upset…
You start to loose focus.
Your head spins. You feel lost.
Overwhelmed. Frustrated.
You feel tired and powerless.
You fall into the vortex of despair…
The week…
(or the month)
seems to be wasted and lost.
Have you ever felt like this ?
(That’s exactly what happened to me this week…)
And when we are like this, it is natural that we want to give up…
But, you know what?
That’s where our skills can help us!
An important skill is solving problems.
And solving problems can be applied to solve the NEW problems that show up while you are solving a problem.
When things are going wrong…

Look for SOMETHING you can DO.
If you decide to DO some action,
and you take ONE small step,
You break out of the negativity THINKING cycle
You Reduce the feeling of frustration
and OPEN your brain to ALTERNATIVES.

This week, I felt like this.
I had so many problems to launch my new book…
